Full-Time Permanent
Location: Montreal– remote/hybrid options available
Hours: Monday – Friday, Core Hours 9:00 am – 5:00pm (40 hrs./week).
Salary: $65K - $75K

Summary:
We are currently looking for a creative, bilingual, and self-driven individual with experience in communication, marketing, and managing education and awareness programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and grow the Foundation’s public presence, lead impactful awareness and educational campaigns, support grant writing, and coordinate community-building and knowledge-sharing events that support our mission.

Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication, marketing, and education strategy for programs
- Assist colleagues in outlining communications and outreach strategies for programs, including awareness and education goals
- Lead the planning and execution of bilingual awareness, advocacy, and education campaigns for the public, clinicians, and policymakers
- Strategically manage newsletters, blog posts, and social media content to ensure consistent messaging and mission-aligned messaging
- Review and recommend the use of communications and design tools to optimize outreach
- Articulate, document, and maintain best-practices guideline and workflows
- Stay informed of industry trends and best practices
Content Creation for Website & Social Media Engagement (percentage of time: 60% - 65%)
- Create and publish high-quality, bilingual content (English and French) tailored to both lay and professional audiences
- Collaborate with companies medical and scientific advisors to ensure accuracy and relevance of educational content
- Write and distribute email newsletters, awareness materials, educational resources, and blog posts aligned with company mission
- Develop multimedia content (e.g., visuals, infographics, videos) for awareness and education campaigns
- Schedule and monitor social media activity to maintain regular engagement
- Monitor community interaction and optimize content to maximize reach and audience engagement
Event Planning and Coordination
(On specific periods, when events are happening - percentage of time: 15%)
- Take the lead in planning and executing educational and community events such as CAN-ACT meetings, and other conferences
- Coordinate event logistics including scheduling, speaker outreach, registrations, venue/platform selection, promotional materials, and post-event follow-up
- Draft communications and promotional plans to support event attendance and visibility across communities, media, and partner networks
- Evaluate event impact through feedback surveys, metrics, and participation data to inform continuous improvement
- Maintain a calendar of annual campaigns and events and contribute creative ideas to grow and evolve public presence
Grant Writing & Funding Support (percentage of time: 15%)
- Support the development of grant applications for programs
- Help identify relevant funding opportunities (grants, foundations, corporate sponsorships)
- Assist in drafting proposal narratives, assembling required documentation, and tracking deadlines
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and colleagues to align grant content with strategic goals
General Administration
- Document project requirements, strategies, and implementation plans
- Maintain workflow checklists and ensure timely execution of activities
- Report regularly to colleagues, contributing ideas and tracking progress toward communications, education, and granting goals
Qualifications
- Bilingual (English and French, written and spoken)
- Studies in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Biology, Health Sciences, Public Health, Social Sciences, Community Health, Nonprofit Management, or any other related field
- 3 years’ experience in communications, marketing, event coordination, or advocacy within a nonprofit, healthcare, or community organization preferred
- Experience or strong interest in grant writing is a significant asset
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Self-starter capable of working independently with sound judgement and initiative
- Professional, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage sensitive or confidential information
- Proficiency with Mac, Salesforce, Microsoft Office, MailChimp, Design Software, and Social Media platforms
- Must be able to travel 3 - 4 times a year (Vancouver, BC - Toronto, ON)
